I looked high and low for the perfect set of reasonably priced stackable rings. Though the Madewell stackable ring set is not cheap, it is a pretty good find compared to other sets out there.
One of the reasons I love this set is that the gold and white go with every outfit. Not to mention, the combination of thin rings with varied textures is dainty yet chic. I love wearing these because they add some sparkle to my casual style. What do you think of Madewell’s stackable ring set? Have you found any other cool stackable rings?
Vera Bradley has whimsical, feminine designs and I’ve always loved their products. From passport cases to backpacks, you can find a cute design for pretty much any essential item you need in your life!
Did you know that Vera Bradley gives a birthday discount? Sign up on their website and you’ll receive a $20.00 credit to spend during the month of your birthday! For my birthday, I ordered this adorable passport case and can’t wait to take it on my trip to India in December!
If you’re bored with regular hair ties, these adorable knotted hair ties can add a little bit of flavor to your up-do.
After I noticed this trend, I had trouble finding the hair ties in stores. Finally, I came across these assorted hair ties at Anthropologie, but other colors can also be found online for much cheaper at Etsy. I love the design assortment, which goes well with my wardrobe made up of mostly browns, grey and black. Fall can’t come any sooner! I’m ready for dark colors, skinny jeans and boots!
I first discovered the embellished manicure trend from Zooey Deschanel’s twitter. She posts pictures of the elaborate, adorable manicures she gets from CHI nail bar in Beverly Hills. I thought, wow, I’ve got to try this place out. Then I saw the prices… $60 starting price for a manicure!
Why not do this at home for crazy cheap? If you’re like me, you’ll want to skip the lines and the money – doing your own manicure at home is easy.
First stop by Sally Beauty Supply and find the perfect nail decal. I chose these subtle, pretty flowers to accompany a light pink nail polish. You will also need to purchase a nail art top coat sealer, pictured below.
First apply a coat of the cina sealer. Follow with two coats of your favorite nail polish. Let dry.
Next, following the instructions from the nail decs, place one on each of your ring fingers (for the subtle and understated look… but use all of the decs if you want!).
Finally, apply another coat of cina to all nails. Done!
1. Signs. I discover random signs and wall art around Los Angeles… this one on Fairfax made me smile:
2. Shellac manicures. Polish Couture on Melrose gives fantastic Shellac manicures for $35 – a hefty price, but the polish lasts for 3 weeks! This shade made me giddy:
3. philosophy. I love all philosophy products. My grandmother gave me this white cranberry shampoo, shower gel & bubble bath for Christmas. The scent is refreshing and addictive.
I hope you find joy in the little things!
I always go to the same sweet lady at the Ulta on Santa Monica and La Brea to get my eyebrows done. Normally when people try to upsell makeup to me I give a big NO THANK YOU.
When she recommended Benefit’s creaseless eyeshadow in the shade “Birthday Suit,” I could not resist. It really is creaseless. Other brands promise a creaseless eyeshadow but I find myself fooled at the end of the day when there are lumps of eyeshadow in the creases of my eyelid. It’s just not cute. But this stuff really works! And it is so subtle, just adds some brightness to the eye. Although I cringed paying the $19 price, it’s well worth it and will certainly last a long time.
Every morning I check HauteLook deals.
A friend from my internship referred me last summer and since then I have made two (but amazing) purchases from HauteLook.
First, a Romeo and Juliet Couture sweater for $39.00 (originally $99.00 if I remember correctly). The line echoes the styles of Blake Lively from Gossip Girl and are very easy to wear – loose and with earthy color tones that make matching easy.
Second, I purchased these Lucky Brand booties for $72.00 (originally $139.00). The heel is about four inches, but they are so comfortable. I would not recommend them for a night of walking, but they are definitely comfortable for walking short distances or standing for a long time.
I see more Hautelook purchases in my future… the deals are amazing. Furthermore, their customer service is top notch. I used the instant message service on their website to ask a question and they responded immediately and nicely. Happy shopping!
This information is glorious.
Yes, J.Crew gives a student discount… 15%!
So I got this sparkly yet simple bracelet that would have cost me $18.50 plus tax for $17.17
The bracelets come in strings of magenta, orange, yellow, sea foam green (pictured), and dark blue. They are dainty and can instantly class up any outfit.
